St. Teresa of Calcutta partners with The S.E.A.L. Foundation to provide educational services and supports for our students with learning differences; contributing to our commitment of inclusivity in our school.
On-site Special Education teacher(s) can provide the following services:
- Access to Orton Gillingham specialized instruction in grades K-2 for students who benefit from this instructional practice
- Consultation provided by Orton Gillingham trained teachers on an as-needed basis
- An individualized Service or Accommodation Plan will be developed for students that have been approved by their district for an IEP or a 504 plan
- Access to Direct service for all Special Education students
- Advocacy provided for parents and families
- Professional Development opportunities for all staff
- Parent support from a Special Education professional to navigate the special education process
- Professional in-classroom staff support providing tools and strategies to increase student success
- Creation of a building-based student support team (SST) facilitated by Special Education staff
- Special Education staff will maintain compliance with the Special Education process
- Special Education staff will Provide formative assessments when needed
